You have probably heard all about those quickie weddings in Las Vegas and now assume that you can just show up and get married on the spot. You can still potentially do that, but if you want the perfect wedding chapel and all the bells and whistles that go with it, you should probably do a little advance planning. What we have put together here is a little guide of sorts that will make your day go a little more smoothly. There isn’t as much to plan as there would be with a standard ceremony at home, but it’s still a good idea to be prepared.

There are countless chapels near the strip, and they all offer something a little different, which is why it’s smart to shop around so that you can get exactly what you want. Some chapels are small and have very little in the way of features and packages, which may not be ideal if you want your big day to have everything you had dreamed of. If you are planning on a quickie style ceremony, one of those smaller locations may be ideal, so take some time to think about what it is you want and choose the one that best suits your needs. You may need to reserve a spot, so think about starting your search a couple of months prior to the big day.
These type of ceremonies can be a little more casual than most, there is still paperwork that needs to be attended to. A marriage license that allows you to be wed in sin city needs to be picked up no later than 60 days prior to the day you will be tying the knot. You can pick up your copy at the Clark County Marriage License Bureau for around $80. They are open till midnight every day, so you will have plenty of time to go in and pick up your paperwork. There are chapels nearby, making it possible to kill two birds with one stone if you are looking to save some time.
Be aware of your budget and choose the package you want carefully. Always read the small print when looking at the packages on offers, as you may be in for a bit of an upcharge. For example, some packages will include a photographer and photos, but you may only be entitled to so many snapshots. If you want all the pictures taken on your big day, be prepared to pay a little extra.
You also need to keep in mind that the cost of your flight and hotel is going to come in over and above the price you pay for a package at a wedding chapels in Las Vegas. If you are dead set on a tying the knot on the weekend, be prepared to pay the higher rates that hotels routinely charge on those days. Going to Vegas to get married off-season and on a Tuesday afternoon could potentially cost you a lot less than going in June and getting married on a Saturday. Paying attention to the details can save you a lot of money which can be helpful while cruising casinos in the strip.
